Thanks to your philanthropy, Brighton Orchestra Boosters have provided concert music, equipment, classroom supplies, and hosted guest instructors for the Brighton Orchestras.
Established in 2017, the Brighton Orchestra continues to grow. The Orchestra consists of more than 200 students in seven grades at three schools: Maltby Intermediate School, Scranton Middle School, and Brighton High School. The program gives students the opportunity to study violin, viola, cello, and bass in a group setting. In addition to providing Brighton students with expanded options for the study of music, the success of the Orchestra program makes Brighton a desired school for new enrollees and school of choice participants.
The Brighton Orchestra Boosters began shortly after the establishment of the curriculum, and became a 501(c)3 in 2022. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to partnering with our Orchestra Directors to support all aspects of the Orchestra for our students.
The Brighton Orchestra Boosters Executive Board is a group of volunteers elected by our organization members each year.
As a parent, guardian, or caretaker of the Orchestra, you have the chance to actively participate in supporting our wonderful Orchestra. You can help us by chaperoning events and student socials, moving orchestra equipment, assisting with concert publicity, fundraising, and more. Our main goal is to ensure everything runs smoothly so that the Orchestra directors can focus on the students and the music. Our fundraising efforts provide valuable financial support to the BAS Orchestras.
The Boosters meet once a month; parents, guardians, and caregivers from BHS, Scranton, and Maltby are welcome to attend. The meetings cover various topics such as the future of the Orchestra program, upcoming events, and areas of concern or need. Additionally, the Boosters send out email newsletters throughout the year to update everyone on events and volunteer opportunities. If you’re interested in contributing to the ongoing success of our Orchestra, please get in touch with us or attend one of our upcoming meetings.
